A little history about the brand of this Clock - Seth Thomas

Seth Thomas started in the clock business working for Eli Terry in 1807 when he was 22 years old. In 1810, he bought Terry's clock business though chose to sell his partnership in 1812 and moved to Plymouth Hollow, Connecticut, where he set up a factory to make metal-movement clocks. In 1813 the first clocks bearing the Seth Thomas name began to emerge. The town of Plymouth Hollow changed its name in 1875 to Thomaston about 16 years after Seth Thomas' death.
