A little history about the brand of this Clock - Seth Thomas
|
| Seth Thomas began working in the clock business in 1807 at 22 years of age when he took a job working for clock maker Eli Terry. In 1810 Seth Thomas purchased the business from Eli Terry only to sell it in 1817 so he could start a business that made metal-movement clocks in Plymouth Hollow, CT. The first metal-movement clocks bearing the Seth Thomas name were sold in 1813. After Thomas' death, Plymouth Hollow renamed itself "Thomaston" in his honor in 1875. |
