What A Man Wants - Gift Ideas for Men
Ladies, step right up! You have a man on your list and no time to decide on the perfect gift. As that day gets closer, the pressure builds inside you like a quiet scream making it harder and harder for you to make up your mind. You recall the time, when in a panic, you ran into the last open store and all you could find was a gift lower than the old standby, the necktie. Well, this time you're going to know what a man wants!
The practical man isn't looking for some flashy, expensive gift. Instead, target something he can use every day. That isn't to say rushing out to pick up soap, shampoo and deodorant is your next order of business. However, if you spend a few moments thinking about whom you are trying to please, the ideas will come flooding to you.
What are your man's favorite hobbies? Perhaps coins for his collection, a humidor for his cigars (or cigars for his humidor), a wine club subscription, a box set of his favorite band or a set of speakers or professional style headphones to complement his stereo equipment would be just right.
What is his favorite sport? A golf care package filled with gloves, tees, golf balls and maybe a tee time or two would put a smile on any golfers face. Maybe a new racket, or a subscription to a sports cable network is more his speed.
What kind of business is he in? Possibly, he could use a new leather briefcase, a mahogany desk set, or a fun new computer gizmo gadget to add to his mounting collection. Remember, he wouldn't have all that stuff if he didn't like it.
How does he dress? Where it's cold, try ski jackets, Oxfords and leather hiking boots. Where it's hot, try silk Hawaiian shirts, khaki shorts and deck shoes. And, no matter where you live a stylish watch is always a hit.
Does he love his car? Most men do. The practical man loves a super-sized box of all the things required to keep a car neat and clean, inside and outside. Maybe an appointment for window tinting, auto detailing, or a new sound system would start him up.
Of course, some men are not practical at all. However, they can be just as easy to please. For the romantic man in your life, focus your attention on art and culture. For the adventurous man, focus on the outdoors, travel and leisure.
Does your romantic man enjoy playing guitar, reading or music? If so, maybe it's time to surprise him with something very unexpected such as a new musical instrument that he's always wanted to learn to play, a leather bound hard-to-find epoch trilogy, or the complete collection of his favorite artist. Let's not forget theater or concert tickets to a show he'd never expect to see — and don't forget a ticket for yourself!
Does your adventurer need new fishing gear, new binoculars, digital or film camera with accessories, sports gear, footwear, or airfare to a faraway destination? Maybe a GPS mapping system, a new or antique rifle, a citywide treasure hunt, or just a lazy day at the beach and a day off will do the job. Remember, sometimes the real gift is something you can't hold in your hand.
One thing is for sure; all men are slow to change. Men who love sports, always love sports. Practical men want practical things. Romantic men will always dream. And, your adventurer will always be looking for the next big rush. Whatever has made your man smile in the past, will work for you again this year. When you get the gift right, no matter what you decide on, your man will know he is loved — and that's his favorite gift of all.
